Up for sale are Two Chinese Bamboo Scrolls. The first one is a replica of 兰亭序神龙本晋唐心印 and the second one is 大悲咒. They are old style Chinese bamboo scrolls that were the main form of books before paper and printing technology were invented. They were made by well polished connecting bamboo plates and carved the words on them.<br><br>兰亭序神龙本晋唐心印 is the most famous calligraph preface to the poems composed at the Orchid Pavilion by Wang Xizhi (considered the most achieved calligrapher in Chinese history. Each stick is 28 cm long and 3 cm wide. The entire piece when unrolled is 11" x 50".<br><br>大悲咒 (The Great Compassion Mantra) is an important Buddhism script. It is believed that if humans and gods recite and hold the phrases of the Great Compassion Mantra, then when they approach the end of life, all the Buddhas of the ten directions will come to take them by the hand to rebirth. Each piece is 3 cm wide and 26 cm long, and the entire piece when unrolled is 10” x 47".<br><br>All in perfect condition!
